Free Cell is the well known solitaire card game where nearly every deal can be won with careful planning. All 52 cards are dealt face up into eight tableau columns. Your goal is to move every card up to the four foundations, sorted by suit from Ace to King, while using free cells and smart sequencing to unblock the columns beneath them.
How to play Free Cell
Build down on the tableau columns in alternating colors, placing a red card on a black one or a black card on a red one. Use the four free cells to hold a card temporarily when you need to clear space or reach a card buried underneath. Move cards to the foundations in order from Ace to King, one suit at a time, until all four foundations are complete.
Tips for playing Free Cell
- Empty a free cell as soon as you can instead of letting all four fill up, so you always have room to maneuver.
- Try to uncover the Aces and low cards early so you can start the foundations and free up tableau space.
- Look for chances to empty an entire tableau column, since an empty column works like a much more flexible free cell.
