Members click through from TopCashback to a retailer, shop as usual, and TopCashback passes on a share of the commission it earns from that retailer as cashback. It runs separate country sites, including a UK site and a US site, and the two sites work a little differently.
This TopCashback review explains what the site is, how it works, and what to look for in a similar cashback site, plus where PocketsFull fits as a different kind of rewards site.
What TopCashback is
TopCashback pays members a share of the commission a retailer gives it when a purchase is tracked through a click from the TopCashback site or app. On the UK site, members can also earn cashback on gift cards bought through TopGiftCards, on insurance, energy, broadband and similar products compared through TopCashback Compare, and when selling a phone. The US site instead offers 'Free Cash Back' deals, which its terms limit to members located in the United States and Canada. Both sites have a refer-a-friend programme.
Cashback does not land in the account straight away. It is first marked as pending when the purchase is tracked, may then move to confirmed, and only becomes payable once the retailer has actually paid TopCashback. Both sets of terms also say an account can be treated as dormant and disabled if the member does not log in at least once every six months, even without any purchase being required to stay active.
Is TopCashback legit and safe?
TopCashback is a real, operating cashback business: the US site is run by TopCashback (USA) Inc. and the UK site by Topcashback Limited, a company registered in England and Wales, with both sites carrying the copyright notice of TopCashback Group Limited as owner of the trademark. The US help center states that TopCashback passes on all of the cashback it receives from retailers and funds itself through retailer bonuses, on-site advertising and sponsored content. Whether a site is right for you is a separate question from whether it is legitimate: read its terms, understand the pending-to-payable process, and decide if the payout options and any membership fees suit you.

Facts checked on
What to look for in a similar cashback site
Cashback sites vary in how purchases are tracked, how long cashback stays pending before it becomes payable, which payout methods are offered, and whether there is a free tier alongside a paid one. Before joining any cashback site, check whether it runs separate terms by country, since rewards, currency and payout methods often depend on where you live.
- Which retailers and categories are covered, since not every cashback site works with the same stores.
- Whether there is a minimum balance a method requires before you can withdraw, and whether that minimum is published.
- Whether any membership tier deducts a fee from your cashback at payout.
- Whether the site is built around retailer cashback, or around a different kind of reward such as surveys and offers.

How PocketsFull differs
PocketsFull is not a cashback site. There is no click-through to a retailer and no purchase to make. Members earn by completing paid surveys from market-research providers and by completing offers from partners, many of them game and app offers, and those rewards go toward a balance that can be redeemed. Joining is free and PocketsFull never asks for a deposit or a payment: rewards come from doing surveys and offers, not from buying anything.
Not every survey fits every person, so being screened out before the end happens to everyone from time to time. Keeping your profile complete and accurate helps you get matched with more surveys. Offers list their own steps and reward, and some take between 7 and 30 days to confirm, since the partner has to check and confirm completion first, a little like how TopCashback's cashback moves from pending to payable once the retailer pays out. PocketsFull also has a separate free-games page with browser games that need no download or sign-up, though those are for fun and do not pay rewards.
How PocketsFull pays
On PocketsFull, redeemed rewards go to gift cards, and the gift card catalogue shown on the redeem screen depends on your country, so members see local brands rather than one fixed list.
PayPal and Litecoin are also listed as payout options for every member.

Frequently asked questions
Is TopCashback legit?
TopCashback is a real cashback business with a registered UK operator and a US operator, and its US help center says it passes on all the cashback it receives from retailers. Whether it suits you depends on its payout methods, pending-to-payable timing and any fees, which you can check in its own terms before joining.
Is TopCashback safe?
TopCashback publishes separate terms for its UK and US sites covering account rules, payout methods and dormancy, which is worth reading before you join. As with any site, use a strong password and check the terms for the country site you are signing up to.
How does TopCashback work?
You click through from TopCashback to a retailer and shop as usual. The retailer pays TopCashback a commission, which moves through pending and confirmed statuses before becoming payable, and TopCashback then passes a share of it to you as cashback.
What is a good TopCashback alternative or site like TopCashback?
Another cashback site works the same way, through retailer click-throughs, but check its coverage, payout methods and any membership fees first. If you would rather earn through surveys and offers instead of shopping, PocketsFull is a different kind of rewards site worth comparing.
Does PocketsFull work like TopCashback's cashback payouts?
No. PocketsFull's redeem screen offers gift cards that depend on your country, along with PayPal and Litecoin, rather than the bank transfer or other methods a cashback site might use.
