How members earn on Prolific

Earning on Prolific means taking part in studies that fit a participant's profile. A study can be a questionnaire, a behavioral or decision-making task, an AI evaluation, or a brand feedback exercise.

Researchers may add bonus payments to a study on top of the base pay. Prolific requires researchers to meet a minimum pay rate for the time a study takes, though this is a rule for researchers rather than a promise of what any individual participant will earn.

A reward is credited to the balance once the researcher approves the submission. If a researcher does not review it within 22 days, Prolific approves it automatically. Researchers can also reject a submission.

How it pays and who can join

Prolific pays through PayPal only. It states that payments can only be transferred through PayPal unless it has told a participant otherwise, and that it does not offer direct bank transfers. Payments are processed by Hyperwallet, a PayPal service.
