How to play Checkers
Pieces move one square diagonally forward on the dark squares of the board. To capture, jump your piece over an opponent's piece into an empty square directly behind it, removing that piece from play. If a piece reaches the far end of the board, it becomes a King, able to move diagonally both forward and backward. Capture all opposing pieces, or block them so they cannot move, to win.
Tips for playing Checkers
- Look for jumps before making any other move, since captures are often required.
- Keep pieces together in rows so your opponent has fewer clear paths to jump over them.
- Push toward the far row whenever you can, since a King is much harder to trap.
