Contributors apply, pass a practice test, and then get invited to recorded tests, surveys without recording, or scheduled video calls with a company's researcher.
This page explains what UserTesting is, what to look for in a similar app, and where PocketsFull is similar and where it is a different thing altogether.
What UserTesting is
UserTesting is run by User Testing, Inc. and its subsidiaries, with UserTesting Technologies, Inc. based in San Francisco, California.
Contributors earn by completing recorded tests on a website, app or prototype while speaking their thoughts aloud, with screen and audio captured. Some dashboards also show surveys without recording, and some contributors get invited to a Live Conversation, which is a scheduled video call with a company's researcher.
Other test formats listed in the help centre include card sorts, tree tests, click tests, comparison tests, app tests and face-recording tests. UserTesting says payment amounts vary by test type, duration and customer demand, and that the figure is shown on the dashboard before a test is taken.
To join, a person confirms their email, links a verified PayPal account in good standing, builds a profile and passes a practice test. A microphone is required, and Live Conversations need a computer. Contributors must be at least 18, and UserTesting says it accepts people from the United States and certain countries across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and elsewhere, without publishing a full country list.

What to look for in a similar app
Any site that asks people to test apps, answer questions or review products should say clearly who runs it, what the task involves, and how payment is sent.
- A clear description of the task: a recorded test, a plain survey, or a live call, so there is no surprise about screen or voice recording.
- A real payout method named upfront, with no request for money to join or to unlock payment.
- An age requirement and, where relevant, a note on what happens to contributors who go quiet for a long time.
- Device or browser requirements stated consistently, since mismatched requirements across a site's own pages are a sign to read carefully.
UserTesting is paid participation in research work, not a points or rewards programme: contributors are paid per completed test, not for browsing or clicking.

UserTesting and PocketsFull are different kinds of sites, so the comparison is about structure, not which one pays more.

How PocketsFull differs
PocketsFull is an online rewards site, not a research platform. Members take paid surveys, complete offers, including many game and app offers, and collect rewards that they redeem, rather than applying to become a paid test contributor.
There is no application, no practice test and no recorded screen or voice. A completed survey adds its reward to the member's balance, and not every survey fits every person, so being screened out before the end happens to everyone. Offers show their own steps and reward, and some take between 7 and 30 days to confirm.
Joining and using PocketsFull is free, and it never asks for a deposit or a payment. The minimum age is 13, with parental or guardian consent needed under 18. PocketsFull has an Android app on Google Play, and the website also works in a phone browser.
How PocketsFull pays out
The box below shows the redeem options PocketsFull offers in India: local gift cards, UPI, PayPal and Litecoin.
Gift cards depend on the member's country, so members in India see local brands such as Amazon, Flipkart and PLAYSTATION, sent to the registered email address. UPI payouts go to a UPI ID, so an ID from Paytm, PhonePe or Google Pay works, with no wallet-balance top-up, and this option is offered to members in India only.
UserTesting pays contributors through PayPal only. PocketsFull also lists PayPal, alongside the other options shown in the box above.

Frequently asked questions
Is UserTesting legit?
UserTesting is a real research platform run by User Testing, Inc., with contributors paid per completed test through a linked PayPal account, as described on its own pages.
Is UserTesting safe to use?
UserTesting asks for an application, a practice test and a verified PayPal account rather than any payment from the contributor, and its contributor terms set out the relationship as paid participation, not employment.
What are some sites like UserTesting?
UserTesting is a micro-task research platform where people are paid per test, which is a different model from reward sites like PocketsFull, where members earn through surveys and offers and redeem a balance for gift cards or other options.
Can I get paid through UPI on UserTesting?
No. UserTesting pays contributors through PayPal only, according to its own pages, so a UPI payout is not an option there.
How is PocketsFull different from UserTesting?
PocketsFull does not involve recorded tests, an application or a practice test. Members complete surveys and offers and redeem the rewards they build up, which is a different kind of task from UserTesting's paid research tests.
Does PocketsFull pay through UPI?
Yes, for members in India. PocketsFull's redeem screen also lists gift cards, PayPal and Litecoin, and the options shown depend on the member's country.
