Updated

Apps that ask for a deposit or a stake and offer a cash prize for rummy, teen patti or similar games fall under new rules that came into force in 2026. This page explains what changed, what the risks were even before the ban, and how to earn with PocketsFull instead, with no deposit and no stake involved.

What the law says about rummy and teen patti cash games

India brought in the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act 2025, and the Online Gaming Rules 2026 came into force from 1 May 2026. Together they ban online money games, meaning any online game where a person pays a fee, deposit or stake with the expectation of winning money, whether the game involves skill, chance or both.

This covers cash rummy apps, teen patti real cash games and similar formats such as junglee rummy cash games or rummy culture cash game apps, whenever real money is staked or deposited to play. Offering such a game is not allowed, advertising one is not allowed, and processing payments for one is not allowed either.

Rules can change, and enforcement can vary. Check the current rules where you live before you treat any app as allowed, and do not rely on this page as legal advice.

What still counts as a normal game

Free games without any stake are treated differently under the law: these are online social games, not online money games. A rummy or card game played for fun, with no deposit, no entry fee and no cash prize, is not the kind of app this ban targets.

The cash element is what makes a game a banned online money game, not the fact that it is rummy or teen patti as a game format: a rummy online cash app or a real cash rummy game is banned because of the stake, not because of the cards.

Why a cash rummy or teen patti app was risky even before this

Even setting the law aside, a cash rummy app or teenpatti cash game asks you to put your own money in before you can play. That money is a stake, not an investment, and it can be lost as easily as it is won.

  • A deposit is required before you can play, so you are spending money, not earning it.
  • Winnings are not steady income: losses are part of how these games work for most players over time.
  • Account balances can get frozen or disputed, and getting money back out is not always straightforward.
  • Chasing losses by depositing more is a common pattern that leaves people worse off.

If you already have money stuck in a cash rummy, teen patti or similar app, the right step is to use that app's own support or grievance channel directly. PocketsFull has no connection to these apps and cannot help with a balance held there.

A no-deposit way to earn instead

A rummy earning app that actually works without risking your own money looks very different from a cash rummy or teen patti app. On PocketsFull there is no deposit, no stake and no entry fee at any point.

On PocketsFull you take paid surveys from market-research providers and complete offers from partner apps and games, and the rewards you earn go into your balance. You are never asked to pay in to play; you simply complete a survey or an offer and the reward is added once it is confirmed.

Game offers on the Offers page work in a similar way: you install or open a game and reach the steps that the offer lists, and the offer's own reward goes to your balance once the partner confirms it. This is not a cash rummy or teen patti format, and there is no stake at any stage.

Free games, just for fun

PocketsFull also has a separate page of free browser games. These need no download and no sign-up, and they do not pay rewards: they are there purely for a quick game of rummy, cards or similar formats without any money involved at all.

How you get paid on PocketsFull

Rewards you earn from surveys and offers can be redeemed, and the box below shows the options available to members in India.

Gift card choices depend on your country, so in India you will see local brands on the redeem screen. UPI is also offered here, paid to a UPI ID from an app such as Paytm, PhonePe or Google Pay, with no wallet top-up involved. PayPal and Litecoin are listed too.

Other payment apps that are not shown on the redeem screen are not a payout option on PocketsFull.
