Some of these are real-money games where you pay an entry fee or stake to play, hoping to win more back. Others are free quiz or trivia apps that simply are not built to pay you at all.
It helps to know which is which before you download anything, because the law in India has changed around real-money quiz and gaming apps, and because most "earn money" claims from quiz apps do not hold up once you actually use them.
This page explains both, and also where PocketsFull fits if what you actually want is a free way to pick up small rewards in your spare time.
What a quiz earning app usually is
An app that claims you can earn money by answering quiz or maths questions usually works in one of two ways. Either you pay a small entry fee or deposit to join a quiz contest, with the chance of winning a prize pool back if you answer well, or the app shows you adverts and offers and calls that your reward for playing.
The first type is a real-money game: you are staking money on the outcome of a quiz. The second type is usually a free trivia or quiz app layered with advertising, and the coins or points you collect inside it rarely convert into real money, or convert at rates that make the effort not worth it.
A trivia app that claims you can win money just by answering general knowledge questions, with no entry fee involved, deserves a close look. Read the terms carefully, check how withdrawals actually work, and be wary of any app that asks you to recharge your wallet or invite others before you can cash out anything.
What changed for money quiz and gaming apps in India
The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act 2025 and the Online Gaming Rules 2026, in force from 1 May 2026, changed the position on online money games in India. An online money game is one where you pay a fee, a deposit or a stake with an expectation of winning money back, whether the outcome depends on skill, chance or both. Offering such a game, advertising it, or taking payments for it is not allowed under this law.
This covers quiz apps and contest apps that ask for an entry fee or a deposit before you can play for a cash prize, regardless of whether the quiz itself is a game of skill. Free games played without any stake, fee or deposit are treated differently under the law, as ordinary social games.
Rules like this can change, and how they apply can depend on the specific app. Check the current rules that apply where you live before you use any app that asks for money to play a quiz or contest for cash.
PocketsFull does not work this way
PocketsFull is not a quiz contest app and does not run money games. There is no entry fee, no deposit and no stake of any kind, and PocketsFull never asks you to pay to play anything or to unlock a reward.
On PocketsFull, members earn by taking paid surveys and completing offers, including game and app offers, and by redeeming the rewards they build up. Nothing is staked and nothing is bet, so there is no winning or losing involved, only tasks completed.
How surveys and offers work instead
A paid survey is a market-research questionnaire from a survey provider. Completing one adds its reward to your balance. Not every survey fits every person, since providers look for specific profiles, so being screened out partway through happens to everyone from time to time and is not a sign anything is wrong.
Keeping your profile complete, accurate and up to date helps you get matched with more surveys that suit you.
An offer is a task from a partner, such as trying an app or a game and reaching the steps it lists, or signing up for a service. Each offer on the Offers page shows its own steps and its own reward, and some offers take between a week and a month to be confirmed before the reward lands in your balance, since the partner has to check it first.
- Surveys: answer questions honestly for a reward added to your balance.
- Game and app offers: install or open the app or game and reach the steps the offer lists.
- Other offers: sign up for a service or complete a listed task.
If you want free trivia for fun
If what you actually enjoy is trivia and quiz style games rather than the idea of earning from them, PocketsFull also has a separate free-games page with browser games that need no download and no sign-up. These are for fun only and do not pay rewards, which is worth knowing upfront rather than discovering later.
Where your rewards go
Rewards earned through surveys and offers on PocketsFull can be redeemed, and the redeem screen shows the options that apply to your country.
For members in India this includes local gift cards, UPI, PayPal and Litecoin. UPI payouts go to a UPI ID, so an ID from an app such as Paytm, PhonePe or Google Pay works, and there is no option to top up a wallet balance directly.
A gift card is sent to the email address registered on your account, and the gift card catalogue you see depends on your country.

Being realistic
A quiz earning app, a trivia app or a reward site like PocketsFull can give you pocket money for time spent, not a salary. PocketsFull is not an employer and not a job, and what anyone earns depends on the surveys and offers available in their country and the time they put in.

Frequently asked questions
Is a quiz earning app that asks for an entry fee legal in India?
Under the Online Gaming Rules 2026, in force from 1 May 2026, offering an online money game, where you pay a fee or stake with an expectation of winning money back, is not allowed. Rules can change, so check the current position where you live before paying any app to play.
Can I win real money on PocketsFull by playing quizzes?
No. PocketsFull does not run quiz contests or money games. It pays rewards for completed surveys and offers, with no fee, deposit or stake involved at any point.
Does PocketsFull pay to a bank account?
PocketsFull's redeem screen shows gift cards along with UPI, PayPal and Litecoin for members in India, depending on what applies to your account.
Is PocketsFull free to use?
Yes. Joining and using PocketsFull costs nothing, and you are never asked for a deposit or a payment to earn or redeem a reward.
Why do I keep getting disqualified from surveys?
Survey providers look for specific profiles for each study, so being screened out before the end happens to everyone sometimes. Keeping your profile accurate and up to date helps you get matched with surveys that suit you more often.
Are the free trivia games on PocketsFull a way to earn?
No. The free browser games on PocketsFull need no download and no sign-up, but they are for fun only and do not pay rewards. Surveys and offers are the ways to earn on the platform.
