What changed for real money games in India

The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act 2025 and the Online Gaming Rules 2026, in force from 1 May 2026, ban online money games in India. An online money game is any game, whether it depends on skill or chance, where a player pays a fee, deposit or stake with the expectation of winning money.

This covers apps built around 8 ball pool, billiards or any other game where real cash changes hands based on the result. Offering such a game, advertising it, or processing payments for it is not allowed under this law.

Free games with no entry fee and no stake, played just for fun or for points with no cash value, are treated differently and are not covered by this ban.

Rules like these can change, and enforcement can vary. Check the current rules that apply where you live before you use any app that asks for money to play.

Why a pool earning apk is risky

An apk file for a pool earning app that promises real money usually comes from a site outside Google Play rather than from an official app store, and that brings its own risks.

• An apk from an unofficial source is not checked by Google Play, so it can carry hidden risks.
• An app that asks you to deposit money before you can play or withdraw is exactly the kind of online money game the law now restricts in India.
• Any app that promises winnings in exchange for an upfront payment is a warning sign, whatever it calls itself.

In India this includes local gift card brands such as Amazon, Flipkart and PLAYSTATION, along with UPI, which pays out to a UPI ID from an app such as Paytm, PhonePe or Google Pay.

PayPal and Litecoin are also listed on the redeem screen. PocketsFull does not pay out to any real money gaming wallet or similar payment method, since that is not part of how the site works.
