Sites built for job postings and freelance work are the main route to a real remote job. LinkedIn and Indeed list remote and work-from-home roles from companies hiring across Colombia and abroad, and Glassdoor adds company reviews alongside listings.

For project-based or freelance work, Upwork, Fiverr and Freelancer connect people with clients looking for writers, designers, developers, customer-support agents and virtual assistants. A virtual assistant role usually means handling email, scheduling, data entry or customer messages for a client abroad, and it is one of the more common remote jobs Colombians find through these platforms.

Other online income ideas

• Selling products or crafts through Etsy or Amazon.
• Building an audience on YouTube, TikTok or Instagram and monetising content over time.
• Using Fiverr or Freelancer for one-off gigs such as translation, transcription or typing jobs.
• Reselling or listing items on eBay or Facebook Marketplace.

None of these routes pay instantly or without effort. Freelance platforms take time to build a client base, and content platforms take time to build an audience.
